I’ve never taken a statue photo that I’ve liked, although this may now be the exception.  Usually they come across as just another tourist snapshot.  For this one, the lighting was great and I was able to frame it within the church window behind it.  I walk past this church and statue half a dozen times a week and finally found the right conditions for a photo.  Now I need someone from the church to tell me if it’s a likeness of Christ, one of the Apostles, or some other saint.

Taken from the sidewalk outside of St. John’s Episcopal Church on West Chestnut Street in Lancaster, PA.  Handheld, 1/180th sec., f/5.6, 85mm, ISO 100.

UPDATE:  The good folks at the church have told me that this is a statue of St. John, the patron saint of their church and, of course, one of Christ’s disciples.  My thanks to them for providing this information.
