Ear of the Wind, Monument Valley   Leave a comment

Mid morning in Monument Valley at a location that my Navajo guide, Roy, drove us to.  The Navajo call this sandstone arch “Ear of the Wind”.  Note that the sandy path coming down from the arch is full of hoofprints.  Roy told me that Navajo farmers often shelter their sheep up in the covered area of the arch.  Too bad I wasn’t there when they came back down.
